Sudhir Diwan, MD

Dr. Sudhir Diwan is a top-rated, highly sought after pain management specialist and serves as the executive director of Manhattan Spine & Pain Medicine. He joined National Spine & Pain Centers through a partnership in late 2013.
Before joining Manhattan Spine & Pain, Dr. Diwan was the director of the Tri-Institutional Pain Fellowship Program and Division of Pain Medicine at Ivy League Weill Medical College of Cornell University for 10 years, where he also served as associate professor of clinical anesthesiology. He also served on the faculty for the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health, the Comprehensive Spine Center, and the Jill Robert IBD Center for Gastrointestinal Health, all at the world renowned New York Presbyterian Hospital.
It was while he was completing a three-year residency in anesthesiology in the early 1990s that Dr. Diwan became fascinated by the treatment of pain, and subsequently completed a pain management fellowship. Dr. Diwan said he finds it challenging that “The definition of pain is different for person to person, and pain is difficult to measure precisely.” Diwan is an energetic physician who says he is motivated by “a passion for helping patients and easing their pain.”
