Christopher F.X. Riegler MD is an ABA board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine physician. Dr Riegler specializes in the field of regional anesthesia as applied to the field of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Additionally Dr Riegler sub-specializes in the field of interventional pain medicine for the treatment of acute and chronic spinal pain, as well as complex regional pain syndromes.
Dr Riegler is originally from New Jersey and a graduate of Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College. He served as President of New York College Alumni Association and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the College. Dr Riegler performed an internship in internal medicine at St Vincent’s Medical Center in New York City, and completed his anesthesiology residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr Riegler served as a senior attending physician at Lenox Hill Hospital becoming Section Chief of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management in the Department of Anesthesiology. Additionally he served as Director of the Lenox Hill Hospital Interventional Pain Center. At present, Dr Riegler is the Director of Anesthesia Services and Medical Director of SurgiCare of Manhattan. SurgiCare of Manhattan is an ambulatory surgical center located in midtown Manhattan dedicated to excellence in the practice of ambulatory orthopedic surgery, sports medicine and pain management.
